Awards
UbiComp (and Pervasive) have collectively offered three different categories of awards over the years:
- Outstanding Student Award, awarded to an outstanding student researcher, dedicated in honor of the late Gaetano Borriello (formerly the Best Student Paper award)
- 10-year Impact Awards, recognizing the impact of work published at UbiComp and Pervasive
- Best Paper Awards were awarded from 2007 to 2016, with a switch to the process of awarding being handed to IMWUT starting in 2017 as Distinguished Paper Awards
Awards are decided upon by committees consisting of Steering Committee members and other members recruited by the awards committee chairs. Conflicts of interest are handled by having conflicted members not participate in reviewing conflicted papers or students and in the final decisions of awards.
